Massimiliano Allegri Comments on Paul Pogba After Win vs. Atalanta

Rob BlanchetteMar 6, 2016

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has criticised superstar midfielder Paul Pogba in his side's 2-0 away win at Atalanta, saying the French talent lost his focus in the Serie A clash.

Allegri told Sky Sport Italia (h/t Jamie Smith of Goal) Pogba's first-half booking had a detrimental effect on the player, and he "basically stopped playing":

"

Paul Pogba is a player who can make the difference if he plays it simple and is focused.

He got booked and let that affect him, so he lost his way in the second half and basically stopped playing.

It's one less game, one less win we need to achieve. It was a good first half, we made some mistakes in our passing choices after the break and in the last half-hour should've done better.

The approach to the game was good, we could've scored more than one early on and moved the ball around well.

Pogba has again been linked with a move away from Juve as his stock continues to grow.

Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star claimed Chelsea and Manchester City are willing to offer him a huge raise in wages to move back to English football, with £300,000 per week touted for the France international.

Chelsea believe "the lure of London" could tempt Pogba from Turin with the incredible wage offer on the table, per Hetherington.

Italian football writer Adam Digby agreed Pogba was off the pace against the Goddess:

Pogba remains one of the world's most desired players, but his drop in form suggests his time in Turin could be coming to an end if he wants a fresh challenge.

He is likely to have the planet's top sides after his signature when the summer transfer window opens, and he will have the pick of Europe's best clubs.

Pogba has achieved much in Italy at a young age, and the calling of the Premier League or Spanish Primera Division will soon be ringing in his ears.
