PAOK vs. Olympiakos Abandoned After Fans Light Flares and Throw Toilet Paper

There were astonishing scenes in Greece on Wednesday, as PAOK's Greek Cup semi-final with Olympiakos was abandoned after home fans lit flares and bombarded the pitch with toilet paper.

The remarkable reaction came after PAOK had a player controversially sent off in the closing stages of the first-leg match, with the home side already trailing 2-1.

That prompted a furious response from the local support, causing armed security to storm the pitch, with the match abandoned shortly after.

The Greek Cup has now been cancelled.

In view of this mayhem in football grounds and a huge disturbance of the social peace and legal order in general, the government has decided to definitively cancel any process and match related to the Greek Cup as provided for by the law.
