Damian Lillard When Asked About Playing Like Curry: 'I Was Being Damian Lillard'

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard dropped 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. He finished with 33 points in a 111-102 victory.

But don't compare him to Stephen Curry.

After the game, the All-Star snub was asked a question that likened his opening period to the Baby-Faced Assassin. Lillard wasn't having it:

Lillard touched on the topic again a day before the Trail Blazers were set to take on the Warriors, per Joe Freeman of the Oregonian:

"

I respect Steph Curry. Because what he's doing is amazing. But I'm my own man. So don't come to me and say I'm impersonating him. You telling me I'm impersonating somebody by doing well at my job is disrespectful. ...

I just think you respect the man as the man that they are. You can respect what Steph Curry's doing and love what Steph Curry's doing. But that has nothing to do with me. I'm my own man.

"
