Salford City Reality Show 'Class of '92' to Return to the BBC for 2nd Series

The BBC has confirmed there will be a second series of Class of '92: Out of Their League. The football reality show first aired in the autumn of 2015 and followed the fortunes of Salford City after they were taken over by Manchester United legends Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.

The first series ended with Salford securing promotion as champions of the Evo-Stick First Division North league, leaving the new series to pick up on the team's fortunes in the Northern Premier League's Premier Division.

Electric Ray will produce the next two-parter for the BBC, whose head of documentaries Patrick Holland expressed his delight at the recommission:

The original series took us to the heart of a community where much was at stake as the new owners took over. Not only was it hugely entertaining, it also explored the often difficult relationship between tradition and progress that resonated with the wider audience. We are very excited to return to Salford for another season of highs and lows.

The new series of Class of '92 is expected to air later this year.
