Rio Ferdinand: Ronaldo and Messi Got Me off My Seat a Lot More Than Zidane

Zinedine Zidane is widely considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, having won the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and multiple league titles across a stellar career.

But apparently that's not enough for Rio Ferdinand, who doesn't rate him as highly as some of the game's other stars.

Speaking to Gary Lineker on BT Sport's UEFA Champions League coverage on Wednesday, Ferdinand explained his thinking:

There's no denying he was a magician, an unbelievable footballer. ... But I think the likes of Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, the real Ronaldo...Messi, these guys for me are more explosive, and they got me off my seat a lot more.

"

Michael Owen, on the other hand, was more complimentary, describing his former Real Madrid team-mate as "the most talented football player" he ever played with.
