Roma vs. Real Madrid: Goals, Highlights from the Champions League Last-16 Tie

Real Madrid looked to continue their unbeaten run in this season's UEFA Champions League when they travelled to Rome for the first leg of their last-16 tie against Roma.

Los Blancos topped Group A with a record of five wins and one draw, while Luciano Spalletti's side finished runners-up to Barcelona in Group E.

The omens weren't looking good for the home side:

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first half, but up stepped Cristiano Ronaldo 10 minutes into the second half to put the visitors in front:

William Vainqueur came agonisingly close to scoring an equaliser after being teed up by Edin Dzeko:

Ronaldo and Dzeko also narrowly missed before Jese doubled the advantage for Madrid in the 86th minute.

And that was how it finished, with Zinedine Zidane's side winning 2-0 ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu in three weeks' time.
