Valentine's Day coinciding with a full schedule of Sunday football—including the Premier League's top four—led some organisers to some extreme lengths to ensure their fans still flocked to the stands in numbers.
And Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem offered a special pitchside view of the action to a lucky couple who enjoyed the match in the comfort (thankfully, it didn't rain) of their own bed.
Complete with a bottle of wine and full complement of rose petals, the romance was spoiled slightly when the home side celebrated a 3-0 win by jumping about on the sheets:
