FC Augsburg vs Bayern Munich: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream, TV Info
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich resume their domestic league campaign on Sunday following their midweek DFB-Pokal win against Bochum as they visit nearby Augsburg in the latest installment of the Bavarian derby.
The match will be of particular importance for Pep Guardiola and company as it serves as their penultimate warmup match for their showdown with Juventus in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The trainer will want his team to be at peak form for the match against Italy's perennial favorites.
And after being held to a draw away to Bayer Leverkusen last week, the Bundesliga leaders will be especially keen to turn things around.

Bayern face an Augsburg side that will also look to enter a European fixture on a high note; they face Liverpool in the UEFA Europa League just four days after their Bundesliga derby clash. Markus Weinzierl's men have largely struggled this season and still aren't safe from the relegation fight.
Yet the Bavarian derby against Germany's record champions seems to have a way of bringing the best out of Augsburg. Weinzierl's side beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena last May, and although Guardiola and company got their revenge in September, Augsburg were ahead until the 77th minute and Bayern only pipped their opponents to three points in the closing moments.
A glance at the Bundesliga table may suggest a rout could be in store on Sunday, but based on recent meetings, fans could be in for a real treat.

Predicted Lineups
Augsburg
Daniel Baier and Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker are both sidelined for the hosts, who will otherwise have a full squad available on Sunday.
Possible Augsburg starting XI: Hitz; Verhaegh, Hong, Klavan, Stafylidis; Moravek, Kohr; Esswein, Ji, Caiuby; Bobadilla.
Bayern Munich
Xabi Alonso is suspended following his red card last weekend, while Javi Martinez, Jerome Boateng, Mehdi Benatia and Sven Ulreich are all set to miss out for Bayern due to injuries. Franck Ribery and Mario Gotze may be fit to play a role off the bench.
Possible Bayern Munich starting XI: Neuer; Lahm, Tasci, Badstuber, Alaba; Kimmich, Thiago; Coman, Muller, Costa; Lewandowski.
Players to Watch
Raul Bobadilla and Caiuby bring South American flair to the Augsburg attack and could be dangerous for the visitors. Alexander Esswein could also pose trouble for Bayern; the former Germany under-21 international was on target against Bayern in September for one of his three goals of the season.
For Bayern, all eyes will be on Serdar Tasci if he indeed is given his first outing as a Bayern player. The newcomer's use in defense could push Joshua Kimmich into his natural midfield role, a good opportunity for the 21-year-old, who has played well in defense as of late. If Ribery and Gotze get time off the bench, they're also well worth a close look; it's been months since they last played.

Key Battles
Raul Bobadilla vs. Holger Badstuber
Although Esswein scored the opener for Augsburg against Bayern last fall, Bobadilla was a constant thorn in the side of the Bayern defense. The Paraguay striker has a great work rate, and his strength could cause serious problems for the Bavarians' ailing back line.
With so many injuries plaguing the Bayern defense, an enormous burden now rests on the shoulders of Holger Badstuber. The center-back is a player of great quality when at his best, but a string of serious injuries in recent years have blighted his career. Physicality never was his strongest suit, so he'll need to be proactive and move to snuff out danger before it begins during Sunday's match.
Douglas Costa vs. Paul Verhaegh
Whether scoring or assisting goals or not, Douglas Costa is Bayern's most explosive threat in attack. The Brazilian has developed tremendously over the course of the season and looks to be a Bayern superstar for years to come. Augsburg's defense may be tricky to break down, but if there's a player with the key, it's Costa.
As club captain, Paul Verhaegh is a source of inspiration and leadership in the Augsburg defense. A veteran, the 32-year-old has plenty of experience to draw upon. He was arguably the Bundesliga's best right-back last season and will have a key role to play in Sunday's game.
