Barcelona's Lionel Messi Was Offered Valencia Match Ball, Gave It to Luis Suarez

Barcelona ran rampant on Wednesday night as they beat Valencia 7-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final at the Camp Nou, all but booking their spot in the showpiece.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were (once again) at the heart of the carnage; the Argentinian scored three and the Uruguayan hit four, leaving the club with a familiar and not unwelcome decision to make: Who takes home the match ball?

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo (via 101 Great Goals) revealed that Barcelona delegate Carles Naval approached the Ballon d'Or winner after the full-time whistle to offer him the official match ball, but Messi declined, opting instead to give the souvenir to Suarez.
