Jones Struggling to Impress with Rockets
Jones once appeared to be on the fast track toward being labeled an ascendant talent, but his production has dipped some this season.
After shooting better than 50 percent from the field during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, Jones is converting a career-worst 45.1 percent of his shots. His scoring average has also dropped more than two points from last season.
| 2012-13 | 19 | 5.5 | 3.4 | 1.0 | 45.7% | 26.3% | 17.1 |
| 2013-14 | 76 | 12.1 | 6.9 | 1.3 | 54.2% | 30.7% | 19.1 |
| 2014-15 | 33 | 11.7 | 6.7 | 1.8 | 52.8% | 35.1% | 18.3 |
| 2015-16 | 45 | 9.3 | 4.5 | 0.8 | 45.1% | 31.6% | 14.0 |
Jones hasn't just struggled to produce in the box score. He's also faced a higher barrier to entry when it's come to seeing regular playing time. Since the Los Angeles Clippers traded Josh Smith to the Rockets on Jan. 22, Jones has only played more than 20 minutes in a single game twice.
