Golden State Warriors vs. Washington Wizards: Live Score, Highlights, Reaction

Matthew SchmidtFeb 3, 2016

Stephen Curry scored 51 points, Draymond Green had a triple-double and the Golden State Warriors held off John Wall and the feisty Washington Wizards, 134-121, at the Verizon Center on Wednesday night.

Curry put on a remarkable show right from the get-go.

The reigning MVP drained seven three-pointers and scored 25 points in the first quarter alone, drawing ohs and ahs from the crowd as he kept making triples well beyond the arc.

By halftime, Curry had 36 points and the Warriors led 74-60.

The Wizards, however, fought valiantly.

So valiantly, as a matter of fact, that they actually cut Golden State's lead to 82-81 at one point during the third quarter.

Wall was brilliant, registering 41 points and 10 assists, but foul trouble caused him to sit out the final 6:18 of the third period. As a result, the Warriors stretched their lead back to 11 heading into the fourth.

Washington would hang around for most of the final 12 minutes, but Golden State was never in any real danger of losing.

Curry went 19-of-28 from the floor and came up one trey shy of tying the single-game record, going 11-of-16 from long range.

Klay Thompson scored 24 points, and Green added 12 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

As a team, the Warriors went 20-of-42 from distance.

Next up for Golden State is a home meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Washington will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.
