The Phoenix Suns have been backsliding throughout January, but they had a chance to close the month on a high note with a road showdown against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
Losers of three straight and nine of their last 10 entering Sunday, the Suns have been decimated by injuries in recent weeks.
Conversely, Dallas was seeking to capture its second straight win and improve to 15-8 at home.
The Mavericks went on to register the home win, 91-78.
