16-Time Grammy Winner Sting to Headline 2016 NBA All-Star Game Halftime Show

Kyle NewportJan 28, 2016

As players and fans await the announcement of the reserves for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, the league has revealed Sting will perform the halftime show at Toronto's Air Canada Centre.

With plenty to choose from, the 16-time Grammy winner will be performing a compilation of his greatest hits. "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take" are among the most popular songs he did with the Police.

Going with the 64-year-old Sting is a big shift from last year's performer, pop star Ariana Grande, but it's sure to be a good show.

Of course, many fans were hoping that Drake would be the featured performer, given the rapper is the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador, or perhaps even Toronto native the Weeknd. Instead, the league has decided to turn back the clock and treat fans to some classics.

Cirque du Soleil will provide an opening performance.

The 2016 NBA All-Star Game coverage will begin on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
