Recap

Before the match, Levante unveiled new signing Rossi, who joined the struggling club from Fiorentina. The fans are desperate for goals and made that very clear to the Italian―TheSportsHangout shared this clip of one elderly fan thanking Rossi for joining and hugging the player:

As shared by ESPN FC's David Amoyal, Rossi explained why he chose Levante:

The 28-year-old watched as Morales opened the score after 25 minutes, pushing home the rebound after Verza had curled a free-kick onto the post. Las Palmas had dominated the match until that moment, although the visitors hadn't threatened goalkeeper Diego Marino all that much.

The stopper was forced into action shortly after, however, denying Tana the equaliser with a fantastic save. David Simon also came close, but his header fell on the wrong side of the post.

Deyverson doubled Levante's lead early in the second half with a cool finish, using his pace to find room for a low shot, but Willian Jose pulled one back for the visitors almost immediately, finding the top corner from 16 yards out.

Forward Deyverson then got himself booked after an incident between Javi Varas and Jordi Feliu Xumetra, and Football Radar's Chris Henson thought it could lead to Rossi's introduction:

The hosts didn't need the Italian, however, as Morales capped off his great night with a second goal, stealing possession near midfield before going on a surging run that ended with the ball in the back of the net.

Not to be outdone, Jose took advantage of a defensive blunder to pull the visitors within a single goal goal, and with more than 20 minutes left to play, this crucial bottom-of-the-standings clash looked like it would go down to the wire.

Rossi made his debut with 15 minutes left on the clock, and per Henson, he received a standing ovation from the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia:

The Italian came very close to scoring on his debut, but Varas denied him with an excellent save. He repeated his heroics to deny Morales his hat-trick moments later, as Levante were desperate to add a fourth goal.

A final push from Las Palmas saw Deyverson booked for the second time for refusing to retreat for a free-kick, but no more chances, as last-placed Levante held on for the win.

Monday's match capped off a great week of football for La Liga, and heading into Week 22, the battle against relegation seems as tight as ever.

Barcelona were the biggest winners in the title race, as the Blaugrana beat Malaga 2-1 and watched Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both struggle to draws. Los Blancos now sit four points behind Atletico and Barcelona, but the Catalans still have a match in hand.
