Twitter Reacts as Sergio Aguero Rescues a Point for Manchester City vs. West Ham
Manchester City had Sergio Aguero to thank once again on Saturday, as the Argentinian scored twice in a 2-2 draw with West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground.
The game got off to a lightning start, with Enner Valencia putting the home side ahead within the first minute:
"What a start here! Kouyate surges beyond Toure, cross deflected out to Valencia, low finish cracked past Hart. Just under a minute played.

City almost equalised immediately, as Aguero lifted an outrageous lob over West Ham keeper Adrian, only to watch the ball bounce back off the post:
"That would have been a ridiculous goal by Aguero.
— Tom Williams (@tomwfootball) January 23, 2016"
"You could give Aguero half a goal for that. Absurd.

"That was brilliant from Aguero and deserved a goal but his lob comes off the inside of the post.

But he wasn't to be denied for long, levelling from the spot after drawing a foul from Carl Jenkinson in the area:

"Oh my days, Aguero. This is going to be good, lads. Get comfy. https://t.co/dVV71csSn2

Jenkinson was then taken off after picking up an injury committing the foul:
"Last few minutes basically sum up Jenkinson's season. Give away pen, injure himself doing so. Sam Byram on for his debut. No pressure.
— Jacob Steinberg (@JacobSteinberg) January 23, 2016"
"Was Jenkinson's 12 minutes one of the most hapless appearances in football history? Ripped apart, peno given away, injured.
— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) January 23, 2016"
The scores were level, but West Ham's Dimitri Payet was running the game from midfield:
"Payet is a hell of a player. Him and Kante are the signings of the season.
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) January 23, 2016"
"Dmitri Payet is going to have to start charging MCFC subs for this little skills clinic he's putting on

"Payet playing with people's emotions out here.

Into the second half, the Hammers soon reclaimed the lead. Valencia scored again with help from some sloppy Manchester City defending:

"Utterly horrendous defending from Man. City. Routine throw in and Otamendi dopey - didn't seem to realise Valencia was there.

"Valencia scores again and City, once again, are totally let down by their complete lack of mobility from Toure backwards.

"That's twice Otamendi has left Valencia for Man City!

The visitors looked to be on their way towards another away defeat until Aguero came to the rescue again:

"Iheanacho's energy created that. He's made a difference with his directness.

It finished 2-2, a point the minimum City would have hoped for as they look to stay in touch with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League:
"Enjoyable game. City haven't won back-to-back league matches since 17 October.
— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) January 23, 2016"
"More Premier League away wins than Manchester City since start of 2015: Arsenal Crystal Palace Leicester Man Utd Liverpool Tottenham Chelsea
— Daniel Storey (@danielstorey85) January 23, 2016"
West Ham, meanwhile, stay sixth after another impressive performance.
