Lamb Has Been Dependable for Hornets

Lamb has settled in as a valuable role player in his first season with the Hornets after three years with the Oklahoma City Thunder. While he was a solid scorer off the bench for Oklahoma City (6.3 points per game last season), he has assumed a larger role in Charlotte's offense, with 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game

At his best, Lamb can stretch the floor as a three-point shooter and do damage in the lane at 6’5”.

He is also a valuable perimeter defender because he is athletic enough to stick with faster ball-handlers and big enough to deal with small forwards if necessary. According to NBA.com, opponents shot 4.5 percent worse from the field and 10.2 percent worse from three-point range than their normal averages when Lamb guarded them last season.

Fortunately for the Hornets, they have plenty of backcourt options should they decide to limit Lamb's minutes upon his return. Kemba Walker is arguably the team’s best scorer, Nicolas Batum can hit from three-point range and provides much of the same versatile defending that Lamb does at 6’8”, and Aaron Harrison and Jeremy Lin provide a scoring burst off the bench.
