Premier League to Drop Lion on Logo as Part of Major Brand Changes

Tom WebbJan 12, 2016

The Premier League is set to drop the familiar lion from its official logo as part of a major rebranding exercise, according to the Daily Mail's Charles Sale.

There will be no title sponsor next season following the end of the league's long-term partnership with Barclays, and it is keen to maximise its clean image.

The lion was originally incorporated in the logo due to the connection with the FA and England's Three Lions, but a creative agency will now be tasked with designing a new emblem to link all of the league's projects.
