Alabama Players Simultaneously Light Up Clemson Defenders on Pass Play
Kyle NewportJan 11, 2016
The Alabama Crimson Tide did not pick up a first down on this pass play, but it wasn't due to a lack of blocking by their skill players.
On 3rd-and-18 from the Alabama 16-yard line in the final minute of the first half of the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, Crimson Tide receiver Calvin Ridley caught a pass on one side of the field and reversed course to try to find room to run. As he got to the other side of the field, Ridley received tremendous blocks from wideout ArDarius Stewart and running back Kenyan Drake.
The Alabama coaching staff is going to like that blocking when it sees the film.
Ridley only managed to pick up five yards on the play, so the Crimson Tide had to punt.
