The world's best players will descend on Zurich on Monday for the 2015 Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are shortlisted for the main award, while 55 of the year's top-performing players will compete for a place in the FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Ahead of the announcement, the folk at Twitter compiled an alternative XI of the planet's most tweeted-about stars.

The team is led by a terrifying front line of Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar, with a host of other big names including David De Gea, Gerard Pique and Paul Pogba also making the cut.
