Luis Garcia gave Liverpool a first-half lead with a powerful drive before adding a second after the break with a header from Gerrard's right-wing cross.

Gerrard's halfway-line effort drifted narrowly over the crossbar before John Aldridge added a fourth in the final seconds with a goal much like Rush's before him.
