Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Targeted by David Beckham's MLS Club

Timothy RappJan 4, 2016

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to live in Miami when he finishes his time with the Liga giants, and he may be offered a two-year contract by David Beckham to play for Miami's MLS franchise when that organization launches in two years, according to the Sun.

Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated reported in March 2015 that one source told him Ronaldo was eyeing a move to MLS in 2018 on a free transfer when his contract at Real Madrid runs out. Wahl noted Ronaldo was interested in a move to Miami, Los Angeles or New York.

Even if Ronaldo was 33 when he made the move to the MLS, he would immediately be the biggest name and most talented player to ever make the move to the league. Given his career trajectory and how seriously he approaches his training and fitness, he would likely still have several productive years ahead of him, making his signing a marketing coup for both the club and the league.
