Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyJan 3, 2016

Wayne Rooney may have his detractors, but the England striker ended Manchester United's 42-day winless run with a beautiful goal against Swansea City on Saturday.

The oft-maligned 30-year-old's superb finish is joined on our weekend golazo ranking by notable efforts from elsewhere in the Premier League, the Championship, League One, Scotland and Spain.

Take a look through the rankings and be sure to leave a comment about your favourite strike in the forum below!

10. Willian (Chelsea) vs. Crystal Palace

1 of 10

Chelsea got their groove back with a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

The Blues' star man was Willian, who netted his third league goal of the season with a delightful first-time hit from outside the area.

9. Yaya Toure (Manchester City) vs. Watford

2 of 10

After late disappointment against Tottenham Hotspur on Dec. 28, Watford suffered a second consecutive league heartbreaker when Manchester City struck late to take three points at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Yaya Toure scored the equaliser for the Citizens, volleying in an Aleksandar Kolarov corner in style.

Kolarov certainly made amends for nodding in a Ben Watson corner for the Hornets' opener.

8. Blair Spittal (Dundee United) vs. Dundee

3 of 10

The Dundee Derby took place on Saturday, with Dundee emerging 2-1 winners over troubled Dundee United.

United did take the lead in the Scottish Premiership tie thanks to a lovely free-kick from Blair Spittal.

According to Opta, four of Spittal's five Scottish Premiership goals for the Terrors have been scored against Dundee.

7. Suk Hyun-Jun (Vitoria Setubal) vs. Braga

4 of 10

Vitoria Setubal needed only four minutes to get on the scoresheet against Primeira Liga rivals Sporting Braga on Saturday.

The deadlock was broken by a sublime free-kick from Korean forward Suk Hyun-Jun.

6. Bruma (Real Sociedad) vs. Rayo Vallecano

5 of 10

Bruma's first goal for Real Sociedad was a lovely effort at the Bernabeu—and his second was even better.

The Portuguese forward earned the Basque side a 2-2 draw at Rayo Vallecano on Sunday when he struck in a wonderful volley straight from a corner.

5. Ross Wallace (Sheffield Wednesday) vs. Fulham

6 of 10

Sheffield Wednesday earned three points against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday thanks to a wonder strike from Ross Wallace.

Just before the half-hour mark, the Scottish midfielder struck a left-footed bobby-dazzler into the top corner for the win.

4. Borja Baston (Eibar) vs. Real Betis

7 of 10

Eibar's sensational season continued on Sunday with a 4-0 victory at Real Betis.

The pick of the Basque side's strikes was Borja Baston's beauty that buried the match in the 82nd minute. The 23-year-old controlled a cross-field pass before curling a wonderful effort into the top corner.

3. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) vs. Swansea City

8 of 10

For the first time in a long time, Wayne Rooney ended a Manchester United game with a smile on his face, bagging his team's winner against Swansea City on Saturday.

The 30-year-old slotted in his third league goal of the season with a cheeky backheeled finish past Lukasz Fabianski.

The beauty of the goal was certainly heightened by the superb assist provided by Anthony Martial.

2. Carles Gil (Aston Villa) vs. Sunderland

9 of 10

Aston Villa seem all but destined to spend next season in the Championship after losing 3-1 to relegation rivals Sunderland on Saturday.

The Villans, however, can take solace from the goal Carles Gil scored to level the game just after the hour mark—a superb acrobatic volley.

1. Martin Samuelsen (Peterborough) vs. Sheffield United

10 of 10

Martin Samuelsen might be a name we will be hearing a lot more of in the future.

The 18-year-old Norwegian is on loan from West Ham United at Peterborough, whom he led to three points on Saturday with a stunning solo effort.

With six minutes left on the clock against Sheffield United and the score at 2-2, Samuelsen produced a dizzying run he capped with a wonderful left-footed finish.

What a way to win a game on the road!
