The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions to win the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl.

The Bulldogs were led by Terry Godwin, who caught a touchdown pass and threw for a score as well. He is the first Georgia player to do that in over 50 years. Sony Michel rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries while Keith Marshall had 62 yards on 14 totes.

Penn State made a comeback in the fourth quarter as backup quarterback Trace McSorley threw two touchdown passes. He was 14-of-27 for 142 yards to go along with his two scoring passes.

The Bulldogs finished the season 10-3. The Nittany Lions finished the year 7-6.
