Recap

Petr Cech set a new Premier League record for clean sheets during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Bournemouth, which saw the Gunners reclaim the lead in the standings.

Mesut Ozil assisted Gabriel Paulista for the first goal and scored the second to lead Arsene Wenger's men to a comfortable win, although Bournemouth showed their quality in the first half.

Per TV personality and outspoken Arsenal fan Piers Morgan, there's no doubt who the top performer in the Premier League is right now:

Manchester United and Chelsea served up a physical encounter that finished without goals, and it will only put more pressure on the shoulders of Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal.

The hosts were the better team and played arguably their best match in weeks, although they were lucky not to concede when a masked Nemanja Matic blew the best chance of the match high over Thibaut Courtois' goal.

Per sports writer Graham Ruthven, the positive showing may not help Van Gaal much:

In Monday's other late match, West Ham United beat Southampton 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Andy Carroll.

Xherdan Shaqiri's start to his first Premier League campaign has hardly been impressive, but he broke his duck in a big way against the Toffees, bagging a brace. He opened the scoring after 17 minutes, finishing off a wonderful passing move, and he gave his team the lead again with a wonderful―and perhaps lucky―chip.

Per Tony Barrett from the Times, his second is an early candidate for goal of the season:

Romelu Lukaku had equalised for Everton, and he continued his superb scoring run in the second half to pull his team level. Former England international Gary Lineker praised the young Belgian:

Everton pushed for a late goal in the second half and saw their efforts rewarded through Gerard Deulofeu, but amid the attacking onslaught, Stoke found a third goal as well. Joselu took advantage of a blunder from Tim Howard to set up a frantic final 10 minutes—a fitting end to a fantastic match.

Marko Arnautovic decided the encounter from the penalty spot, drawing one of the best matches of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign to a close.

Watford's five-match unbeaten run was broken against Tottenham Hotspur, whose push for a top-four finish continued on Monday. Erik Lamela gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but the in-form Odion Ighalo inevitably found the net as well, pulling the Hornets level.

Football blogger Liam Canning has been mightily impressed with the Nigerian:

Watford's bid to continue their hot streak was made more difficult when on-loan youngster Nathan Ake saw a straight red card for a high boot, sending his studs straight into Lamela's thigh. This set up a strong stretch from Tottenham, and Mauricio Pochettino's men were rewarded just before the final whistle as Heung-Min Son found a late winner.

Per the club's official Twitter account, Pochettino was blown away by the late goal:

Jonathan Howson gave Norwich City the lead against struggling Aston Villa midway through the first half, and while the goal came against the run of play, the Villans once again showed why they are likely to be playing in the Championship next season.

Rather than bounce back from the setback and continue their good showing, Remi Garde's squad crumbled under the pressure, and the Canaries started to dominate the encounter.

Bleacher Report UK didn't mince words:

Dieumerci Mbokani doubled Norwich's lead, putting some distance between the Canaries and the relegation zone. Villa remain the only team in the Premier League yet to gather a double-digit point total.

West Bromwich Albion beat Newcastle United thanks to a single goal from Darren Fletcher, and Crystal Palace played out a scoreless draw with Swansea City.

On Tuesday, league leaders Leicester City host Manchester City, and Sunderland will go head-to-head with Liverpool on Wednesday.
