Under Armour Curry One Low 'Championship' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price

Tyler ConwayJun 8, 2018

The rollout of the latest Curry Two colorways is in full force, but it appears Under Armour isn't quite done with the Curry One.

WearTesters reported earlier this month that Under Armour will be releasing the Curry One "Championship" colorway ($110that was previously kept under wraps. The shoe was originally designed for Stephen Curry's friends and family after the Golden State Warriors won the 2015 NBA championship.

At the time, Under Armour had no plans of a wide release. But the widespread clamor for the colorway's public release apparently changed the company's mind.

It's easy to see why. The "Championship" colorway is one of the best, if not the best, casual wearer in the Curry One line. Its clean, all-white upper is accentuated only by gold and some gray at the front of the sole. There are no frills to it, really. Clean is the best word to describe the shoe, which is also a solid on-court performer.

What makes the decision interesting is the timing. The Curry Twos are flying off shelves, and Under Armour has already made a concerted effort during the holiday season to make stores flush with different colorways. It also falls in line with the "Professional" and "Suit and Tie" looks, which are aimed at more casual buyers.

With that said, we should all be thankful Under Armour finally broke down.

The "Championship" colorway is a total home run. Every Warriors fan is going to want a pair to commemorate the championship and MVP season—there is an MVP patch inside the tongue—and the colorway itself is a strong selling point.

So is Curry's strong 2015-16 season. The reigning MVP is leading the NBA in scoring, has the Warriors out to a 29-1 record and is by far the favorite to take home his second regular-season crown. ESPN's Darren Rovell reported Curry is now the NBA's third-most popular player, trailing only LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Curry is also the fastest-rising player on that list and the NBA's leading jersey-seller.

To put it mildly: All things are looking up for Stephen Curry.
