Barclays U21 Premier League 2015: Tuesday Results, Updated Table and Fixtures

James DudkoDec 22, 2015

Tuesday's marquee fixture in the U21 Premier League, the Manchester derby, was postponed. Adam Marshall of Manchester United's official site detailed the news.

It means Manchester City lost the chance to make up ground on the top three in Division 1. Meanwhile, United were again made to wait after yet another game was moved.

Elsewhere, Brighton & Hove Albion drew 3-3 with Fulham at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre. While the stalemate came at the end of a thrilling contest, it's done little for the young Seagulls, who remain rooted to the bottom of Division 2.

Recap

United's derby with City was called off, while the Red Devils' U18 side used the Leigh Sports Village for their FA Youth Cup clash against Queen Parks Rangers.

Earlier in the day, James Tilley added a goal to a brace from Jack Harper as Brighton rescued a point at home to Fulham. Former Real Madrid prospect Harper's second came with just two minutes remaining.

The Cottagers hit back after Tilley had struck first. Cauley Woodrow brought Fulham level before George Williams put the west London outfit ahead.

Fulham's official Twitter feed credited Williams with a spectacular strike:

Welsh playmaker Williams had already teed up Woodrow to spark an influential performance. The 20-year-old pulled the strings at the heart of midfield all afternoon.

Woodrow's goal was also a sign of his own growing reputation. The 21-year-old is an England international at youth and U21 levels, who Fulham tied to a three-year contract in May, per BBC Sport.

Estonian striker Mattias Kait looked to have sealed all three points for Fulham. But the Cottagers' surprisingly leaky defence let the visitors down one more time.

Both teams find themselves at the wrong end of the second tier of the academy standings. But both have talented attacking players at their disposal who can still prove capable of bigger and better things.
