Lionel Messi scored his fifth league goal of the season on Saturday as Barcelona earned their third consecutive score draw.

The Argentinian—who has jetted to Japan with his team-mates to participate in the Club World Cup—is now just nine goals shy of the 300 mark in La Liga, per @Messistats

Messi's free-kick features on our weekend golazo ranking, along with efforts from Germany, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Portugal, England and Australia.

Check out the ranking and be sure to leave a comment.

10. Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) vs. Athletic Club

1 of 10

Atletico Madrid went even on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga following a 2-1 win over Athletic Club on Sunday.

Antoine Griezmann bagged the winner in the 67th minute with a fine first-time hit from outside the box.

9. Javier Hernandez (Bayer Leverkusen) vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

2 of 10

Borussia Monchengladbach somehow followed up a victory over Bayern Munich last week with a tonking at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.

Chicharito was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to bring his tally to 15 in the last 12 games. Manchester Utd, by contrast, have only scored 10 goals without him, per Squawka

The Mexican completed his treble with a delightful strike from outside the box in the 76th minute.

8. Nani (Fenerbahce) vs. Istanbul Basaksehir

3 of 10

Chicharito wasn't the only former Manchester United star making Red Devils fans feel regretful over the weekend.

Nani earned Fenerbahce three points on Sunday with his impressive 84th-minute strike across goal.

7. Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo) vs. Espanyol

4 of 10

Iago Aspas scored his eighth goal of the season on Saturday in style.

The former Liverpool star put Celta Vigo one to the good against Espanyol with a sublime chipped finish.

6. Marcelo Brozovic (Internazionale) vs. Udinese

5 of 10

Inter Milan stormed to a 4-0 win at Udinese on Saturday to consolidate their lead at the top of Serie A.

The visitors' fourth and final strike was a beautiful curling effort from Marcelo Brozovic on the edge of the box.

5. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) vs. Deportivo La Coruna

6 of 10

Barcelona earned their third consecutive score draw on Saturday when they were held 2-2 by Deportivo La Coruna.

The scoring was opened in the 39th minute by none other than Lionel Messi, who sunk a lightning-fast free-kick. It marked the Argentinian's 50th goal of the calendar year, per @Messistats.

4. Junior Stanislas (Bournemouth) vs. Manchester United

7 of 10

Junior Stanislas couldn't break into Eddie Howe's Championship-winning Bournemouth side last season, but he's certainly making an impression in the Premier League with his recent stream of goals and assists.

With less than two minutes on the clock against Manchester United on Saturday evening, the 26-year-old winger swung in a corner that found the back of the net with only the assistance of a gust of wind.

Everybody loves an Olimpico.

3. Adel Taarabt (Benfica B) vs. Braga B

8 of 10

Adel Taarabt has been dumped into Benfica's reserves thanks to the weight and discipline problems that we have seen dog his career. And the Moroccan forward's reputation hit a low earlier in the week when he took an incredibly bad corner.

However, Taarabt redeemed himself on Sunday with a wonderful solo effort scored just 13 seconds into a reserve game with Sporting Braga.

2. Kasper Hamalainen (Lech Poznan) vs. Zaglebie Lubin

9 of 10

Lech Poznan defeated Polish Ekstraklasa rivals Zaglebie Lubin 2-0 on Sunday, and the home fans were treated to something special for the opener.

Finnish forward Kasper Hamalainen broke the deadlock after 16 minutes when he teed himself up for a nicely taken volley.

1. Jimmy Jeggo (Adelaide United) vs. Sydney FC

10 of 10

Adelaide United midfielder Jimmy Jeggo had quite the evening on Friday when his side overcame Sydney FC 2-1 at home.

Just after the hour mark, the 23-year-old struck the crossbar from distance. Five seconds later, Jeggo made up for his near-golazo by scoring a stunner from outside the area.
