Sunday Recap
Liverpool started the stronger against their rivals, as they dominated the early stages of the game, but the Reds were unable to make their pressure tell.
The Toffees were more clinical, and when Conor McAleny sent a teasing cross in from the left, Antony Evans was on hand to slide the ball home. Everton doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Callum Connolly rose to head home a corner.

The hosts sparked hopes of a comeback when substitute Harry Wilson scored a powerful effort shortly after coming on, but just three minutes later, Kieran Dowell replied with an emphatic finish of his own following some good work on the left from Tom Davies.
Earlier, the Black Cats came from a goal down to record an impressive victory against Reading. Harry Cardwell gave the Royals the lead with a goal in a narrow first-half contest.
The hosts began the second half much brighter and forced a couple of saves from Stuart Moore before eventually finding an equaliser through Rees Greenwood, who escaped a last-ditch tackle and applied a smart finish into the corner.
Sunderland continued to press for a winner and found it courtesy of a header from Valentin Roberge. The Black Cats could have added a third when they were given a penalty with seven minutes remaining, but Liam Agnew sent his spot-kick wide.
