Premier League Fixtures: Week 14 Schedule, Score Predictions for EPL Matchday

Christopher SimpsonNov 23, 2015

There are plenty of intriguing Premier League fixtures to whet the appetite in Week 14, when Leicester City's Jamie Vardy will look to make history by breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's record of scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League appearances.

The Englishman equalled the phenomenal tally in his last outing against Newcastle United and appropriately will be looking to go one step further against Van Nistelrooy's former club, Manchester United.

In one of the picks of the weekend, the in-form Tottenham Hotspur will undoubtedly prove to be a sizeable obstacle on Chelsea's road to recovery when they meet at White Hart Lane.

Leicester City vs. Manchester United

Incredibly, the Foxes' match with the Red Devils on Saturday is a clash between first and second in the Premier League after Leicester rose to the top of the standings, courtesy of their win over Newcastle and the defeats Manchester City and Arsenal suffered.

Squawka Football highlighted Leicester's incredible form:

The Foxes are not only the division's top scorers, with 28 goals, but they are also the only side to find the back of the net in each of their 13 games this season.

By contrast, United have been largely uninspiring in attack, save only for the revelatory Anthony Martial, but they have been rock-solid at the back, boasting the meanest defence in the league while conceding just nine goals.

Indeed, as Squawka Football noted, prior to Troy Deeney's penalty, the Red Devils had gone more than 10 hours without conceding in all competitions.

Football writer Liam Canning is anticipating an exciting matchup:

The two sides could cancel each other out in a drab encounter—however, with the home crowd roaring Leicester on and Vardy in deadly form, if anyone can breach United's defence, it's them.

Likewise, Leicester's vulnerable defence will offer United a licence to get forward, so a number of goals could be flying in for both sides.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea

Spurs may be only fifth in the Premier League, but they have been one of the most impressive teams in the division this season.

Conceding only 11 goals, they boast an unusually solid defence, while only Leicester and Manchester City have scored more than the Lilywhites' 24.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino's side are unbeaten since the opening day of the season and looked particularly strong in their last outing, a comprehensive 4-1 win over West Ham United. Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker was especially impressed:

Contrary to the beliefs of some, Harry Kane is showing himself to be more than a one-season wonder, and the 22-year-old has notched eight goals in his last five appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are still languishing in the bottom half of the table. But they picked up a 1-0 win over Norwich City last week, and the Blues generally performed better than they had in previous weeks.

Chelsea will need to improve even further to stand a chance of getting a positive result on Sunday, though.

Expect the hosts to have too much for the visitors on this occasion and to continue their impressive run for at least another week.
