Arsenal Edge Closer to Resurrection

It's the classic Arsenal storyline: club makes disappointing start to campaign, doubt grows in Arsene Wenger's reign as Gunners manager and Arsenal somehow rectify their losses to qualify from Champions League group.

This European season has been particularly bad for the north Londoners, however, and by all means it looked as though their Champions League participation was over until a shock win over Bayern Munich on Matchday 3 steered them back on course.

That win over Bayern means the Gunners sit six points off second spot in Group F and must secure all three points at home to Dinamo Zagreb if they're to maintain a chance of progressing.

Unfortunately, the north Londoners are going into this fixture on the back of a 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, a result Wenger dubbed a "nightmare," per the Press Association:

Dinamo also have the advantage of having already beaten Arsenal once this season—September's 2-1 win in Croatia—and Opta's Orbinho suggested the Gunners are on the ropes:

And yet it's at desperate junctures such as this that Wenger's side tends to produce results, particularly when it seems as though Wenger is at his most vulnerable.

Injuries are still hurting the English giants, but one can expect Arsenal to outdo Dinamo with a strong lineup, move up to third in their Champions League group and set up a dramatic final group clash in Piraeus on December 9.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Dinamo Zagreb

Recovering Juve Stagger Vulnerable City

Juventus and Manchester City are two teams in quite opposite form at present, with the former moving up to sixth in Serie A after one loss in their last 10, while the Citizens suffered a terrible 4-1 defeat at home to Liverpool on Saturday.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini did not hold back in his assessment of City's performance following such an embarrassment at home, per Sky Sports:

Juve won't be growing arrogant in their bid to revive a Serie A title defence just yet, but Massimiliano Allegri's men have made an impressive leap from 12th to sixth in recent weeks.

The Bianconeri's latest success was a 1-0 win over Milan on Saturday, and Italian writer Marco Messina believes that win will help inspire more results of a positive nature:

A single point separates the two Group D combatants heading into Wednesday's tie, in which three points would have a drastic impact in deciding who tops the pool.

Taking both teams' trajectories into account, Juve appear capable of summoning some of their former defensive rigidity, while a confidence-stricken City team may be susceptible to defeat in Italian territory.

Prediction: Juventus 1-0 Manchester City
