Jamie Redknapp Banned from Driving After Former Liverpool Star Caught Speeding
Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur captain Jamie Redknapp has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding.
According to the Liverpool Echo's John Siddle, Redknapp was clocked exceeding the 50 mph limit on the M25 in a Bentley, and he has been disqualified from driving as a result after meeting the 12-point limit under "totting up" rules.
The Sky Sports pundit pleaded guilty to the offence as he appeared before Staines Magistrates’ Court and was additionally ordered to pay a fine of £700, costs of £75 and an £80 victim surcharge.

Per MailOnline's Euan McLelland, the incident took place on April 15 and Redknapp was sanctioned for exceeding the temporary 50 mph limit on a stretch of the motorway between Chertsey and Wisley—the 42-year-old lives in Oxshott, Surrey.

Court records noted that "disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending" from the former England international, per Siddle.
McLelland reported that Redknapp previously had three points put on his licence back in 2010 when he was caught driving a Mercedes at 66 mph in a 50 mph zone in Hook, Surrey.
He is far from the only football star to have run into speeding troubles, with Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas having been banned from driving for the same length of time in October for driving at 110 mph, per Oliver Todd on MailOnline.
Per the Liverpool Echo's Neil Docking, Redknapp's former Reds team-mate John Barnes was also handed a ban back in September for speeding.
