Barcelona Transfer News: Latest on Ezequiel Lavezzi and January Rumours
Barcelona look set to delve back into the transfer market this January and are said to be sizing up a €5 million move for Ezequiel Lavezzi, while a prominent agent says it's a matter of time before Paul Pogba joins the club.
Lavezzi has fallen down the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain this season following the arrival of compatriot Angel Di Maria, but Javier Giraldo of Spanish newspaper Sport reported the winger is wanted by Barca:
"The name of Ezequiel Lavezzi is heard with increasing volume around Barcelona. The Argentine Paris Saint-Germain forward, whose contract finishes in June—and he wants to leave the club—has become a big priority for the technical secretary Robert Fernandez, to reinforce Barcelona's forward line in the winter transfer window.

Manager Luis Enrique is attempting to beef up his ranks after having to contend with injuries to Lionel Messi, Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic and more of late, but the club's transfer embargo has prevented the registration of new players.
Lavezzi would be available for a cut-rate fee after running into the final year of his contract at Parc des Princes, and the chances of extending his stay in the French capital look slim at this point.

Giraldo went on to state that Fernandez has watched Lavezzi on numerous occasions and sees his ability to play across the forward line as an attractive trait.
The Argentina international will turn 31 before the 2015-16 campaign comes to an end and must decide where his future lies in 2016, although FourFourTwo's Serie A writer Adam Digby doesn't see value in the deal:
However, it's worth noting Barca already have one of the most devastating attacking trios in the world, so it's likely any player arriving would merely back up the likes of Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Summer signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal are already waiting to be introduced into the squad and will both provide cover on the right wing, but a more specialised left-sided asset may be required.
Lavezzi has started in just three of his 15 appearances for PSG this season, and even a supplemental role with the reigning champions of Europe might be preferred to his current fringe status in Paris.
It's also mentioned in the report that the winger holds a close bond with countrymen Messi and Javier Mascherano, who would assuredly be happy to see another member of the Albiceleste squad arrive at the Camp Nou.
Meanwhile, FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti told Italian newspaper Tuttosport Juventus ace Pogba will most likely end up playing for the Blaugrana "sooner or later" (h/t Bruce Archer of the Express):
"I know that Barcelona are after him [Pogba]. It's likely he'll end up there sooner or later. We'll have to see whether Juventus decide to sell him. In any case, Barca are not the only Spanish club looking for him."

From that, one might well deduce Real Madrid as the other La Liga club in the running to sign Pogba, considering they would be one of the only clubs capable of purchasing the Frenchman from the Turin giants.
ESPN FC cited Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport last summer, when they reported Pogba rejected an €85 million (£62 million) move to Chelsea, potentially saving himself for another European powerhouse.
