Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Top-flight domestic action may have been absent from much of the world over the weekend, but there was no dearth of quality goals.

Our latest golazo ranking features efforts from Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018 qualifiers, prominent friendlies and a few of the domestic leagues that marched on in spite of the international break.

8. Tamas Priskin (Hungary) vs. Norway

Norway will be watching Euro 2016 at home thanks to Hungary, who earned an aggregate 3-1 win in the Euro 2016 Qualifier. 

Tamas Priskin opened the scoring on Sunday with an excellent curling effort that completed an impressive counter attack. 

7. Felipe Anderson (Brazil U23) vs. USA U23

Brazil's U23s dished out a 5-1 thrashing to their American equivalents on Sunday, with Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson providing the best moment of the match in a wonderful free kick. 

6. Andres Guardado (Mexico) vs. El Salvador

Mexican fans at the Azteca were treated to a 3-0 victory over El Salvador in El Tri's opening 2018 World Cup qualifier.  

PSV's Andres Guardado opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a superb free kick. 

5. Islam Simani (Algeria) vs. Tanzania

Tanzania recovered from a two-goal deficit in the World Cup qualifier with Algeria to earn a draw, thanks to a brace from Islam Slimani.

The Sporting Lisbon forward's first goal was a wonderful volley made possible by an assist from Leicester's Riyad Mahrez. 

4. Roly Bonevacia (Wellington Phoenix) vs. Adelaide Utd.

Down in Australia, Roly Bonevacia scored twice in Wellington Phoenix's 4-2 win over Adelaide United on Friday. 

The Dutch midfielder's second goal was a long-range beauty that left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot in disbelief. 

3. Wagner Machado (Macae) vs. Atletico Go

The award for Outrageous Free Kick of the Week goes to Macae's Wagner Machado, who converted a fantastic dead ball from distance to open the scoring in his side's 4-3 win over Atletico Go on Saturday. 

As our friends of 101GG note, the curling long-ranger was reminiscent of Roberto Carlos' famous free kick against France. 

2. Kenwyne Jones (Trinidad and Tobago) vs. Guatemala

Trinidad and Tobago kicked off their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign in the best manner possible with a 2-0 win over Guatemala. 

In the 80th minute, Kenwyne Jones bagged the decisive goal with a stunning volley from a brilliant cross-field pass. 

1. Mario Gaspar (Spain) vs. England

Mario Gaspar provided the highlight in Spain's 2-0 friendly win over England with a sensational acrobatic volley to open the scoring. 

The Villarreal star now boasts two goals from two international caps—a mighty impressive feat for a right back!
