Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis

Jared JohnsonNov 11, 2015

The Golden State Warriors moved to 9-0 with an ugly road win over the 3-6 Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday.

Golden State, known mainly for its pretty offensive play, had more turnovers (23) than assists (22), but won the game with its defense, as the team is capable of doing. Memphis shot 34.3 percent from the field during the contest and had 21 turnovers of its own.

Up until about the midway point of the third quarter, it looked like a toss-up who would win the game. The Grizzlies were out-muscling the Warriors inside on offense, forcing several fouls that slowed down the tempo of the game. Golden State lost its rhythm and had to settle for several contested shots.

However, the offensive volcano that is Stephen Curry erupted late in the third quarter. Curry hit two ridiculous threes near the end of the period, including one where he basically just threw the ball at the hoop from just inside the half-court line while trying to draw a foul. His 17 points in the period stretched Golden State's lead to 11 by the start of the fourth quarter, and the Warriors never looked back.

Marc Gasol (26 points, seven rebounds) and Zach Randolph (19 points, seven rebounds) did their part for the Grizzlies, but Mike Conley (four points on 1-of-12 shooting) turned in a performance that was tough to overcome against the NBA's best team.

For the Warriors, Andre Iguodala's 20 points and Harrison Barnes' 19 points were big in helping ease Curry's scoring load. The superstar point guard ended with a relatively modest 28 points.

Golden State will play at Minnesota against the Timberwolves Thursday night to complete a back-to-back while the Grizzlies will host the Portland Trail Blazers Friday.
