England legend David Beckham has delighted local children by visiting a Buenos Aires shanty town to take part in an impromptu football match.

The brilliant photos show the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star sharing his skills with kids in a deprived region of the Argentinian capital.

"He was here for about two hours. He said hello to residents and played football with the children," local priest Hernan Morelli told Cancha Llena (via the Mirror). "Here we have the church team, Mothers of the People, and he played with them."

Beckham is embarking on a world tour that will see him play seven matches on seven continents for a new documentary about football.
