Ranking the Week's 20 Hottest Transfer Rumours with Pirlo, Pogba, Gerrard, More

Karl MatchettNov 6, 2015

The end of another week brings, as usual, our complete roundup of all the biggest and latest transfer rumours in the world of football.

We scour the globe's media outlets for their reports, rumours and indications of moves in January and beyond, compiling the up-to-date list for your perusal and ranking the possible transfers in order according to value of the fee involved, quality and reputation of the player, as well as the size of the buying club.

These aren't B/R's rumours, just everyone else's, but more than a few could involve the future of your club...if they pan out!

20. Emre Mor

1 of 20

Manchester United, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are the teams involved in our first rumour—but it's not as big a name as you might expect.

Emre Mor, an 18-year-old forward who has yet to make the breakthrough for club or country—that's with FC Nordsjaelland and Denmark—is being courted by some of Europe's top sides, according to the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel, who intimated the young forward has been watched numerous times.

Ajax are also recorded as interested.

19. Emmanuel Adebayor

2 of 20

Emmanuel Adebayor has been without a club since the end of the transfer window, having been released from his contract at Tottenham Hotspur.

He can join a new club again in January, and Watford have been linked as a club ready to move for him with. The Press Association (h/t the Guardian) has noted manager Quique Sanchez Flores said he would welcome any good players to the club.

Watford have the likes of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo regularly in their lineup for attacking positions.

18. Jonathan de Guzman

3 of 20

Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has been linked once again with a move to Bournemouth, a rumour that played out in summer without any end move for the Dutchman.

Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Andy Mitchell of the Bournemouth Echo) linked De Guzman with a move to Dean Court in the winter window as a result of having had no playing time whatsoever with the Serie A team this term.

Last season, he played just over 1,000 minutes of league action and was a regular in the UEFA Europa League for his team.

17. Andros Townsend

4 of 20

Spurs winger Andros Townsend was in hot water at his club after a bust-up with a fitness coach recently and has not been a regular in the team this term.

The Mirror's Darren Lewis has reported Newcastle United are among the clubs looking at signing him in January, with West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and Aston Villa also considering a move for him.

Townsend has been fined and is training with the youth players after the incident, though he has not been a regular for the club this season in any case.

16. Cristian Tello

5 of 20

It must have been at least two transfer windows since Liverpool were linked with Spanish wide forward Cristiano Tello, so the years-old transfer rumour has resurfaced.

The Barcelona wide forward, now on loan at FC Porto, is linked by A Bola (h/t Metro's Mark Brus) with a move to either Liverpool or Everton at the end of the current season with his parent club unlikely to have a place for him in the squad.

Tello has scored twice in 10 games for Porto this term.

15. Stefan Kiessling

6 of 20

Stefan Kiessling's agent has suggested his client could leave Bayer Leverkusen this winter, leading to links he may move to Liverpool in the Premier League.

German outlet Express (h/t Stephan Uersfeld of ESPN FC) suggested new manager Jurgen Klopp could move for the striker, who has dropped behind Javier Hernandez as Leverkusen's leading frontman this season.

The Reds have Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge as their senior forwards—though the latter has been injured most of the year—with Divock Origi filling in.

14. Kevin Mirallas

7 of 20

Everton's Belgian attacker Kevin Mirallas is seemingly unhappy about a lack of game time this season, featuring largely as a substitute and only appearing in five league games so far.

The Liverpool Echo's Phil Kirkbride reported the English club will not sell him, though, even if Mirallas is frustrated that his limited minutes has seen him left out of the latest Belgium squad.

Mirallas signed a new contract at Everton in the summer, and the club is not expected to entertain any bids in winter.

13. Charly Musonda

8 of 20

AS Monaco tried to sign Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda in the summer, failing to lure the Blues into parting with their asset, but the Ligue 1 club will return with a new bid in January.

That's the news from the Mirror, who said Monaco are ready to up their initial £10 million offer for the 19-year-old and offer him the promise of first-team football, which has not been forthcoming this season under the struggling Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal are also interested, though Monaco might offer a loan move.

12. Jorginho

9 of 20

Napoli midfielder Jorginho has been back in the rumour pages, too, this time linked with a move to Arsenal.

Football Italia reported his agent, Joao Santos, spoke to Radio Crc and admitted Gunners scouts were in place for a recent match against Genoa, though he couldn't confirm they were there to see his client.

Santos suggested an "irrefutable offer" for Jorginho could sway the club to sell, but Jorginho's priority is to break into the Italy national team.

11. Arkadiusz Milik

10 of 20

Leicester City's impressive season has seen their attackers shine in Claudio Ranieri's offensive system, and the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba has reported the Foxes will add to that front line with the signing of Ajax's Arkadiusz Milik.

The Polish forward was on loan at the Dutch club last season and signed permanently for them this term, though he hasn't always been a starter in the Eredivisie.

A £10 million price tag is mentioned in Kajumba's piece.

10. Arsenal Seniors

11 of 20

Three of Arsenal's more senior squad players are set to depart the Emirates scene at the end of the current season, according to the Evening Standard's James Olley.

Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are all out of contract in the summer, and Arsene Wenger is seemingly planning for life without them—especially with Rosicky yet to play this season and the other two barely starting any fixtures.

Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin have been the preferred two in the middle.

9. Branislav Ivanovic

12 of 20

Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic has had some pretty serious criticism come his way for some poor displays this season, and Calciomercato (h/t Mark Brus of Metro) has linked him with a move away from Stamford Bridge as a result.

Inter Milan will be one of the clubs at the front of the queue to sign him when his contract runs out in the summer, according to the report.

Davide Santon and Barcelona loanee Martin Montoya are Inter's usual right-back options.

8. Riyad Mahrez

13 of 20

Riyad Mahrez continues to be linked with a move away from Leicester City after starting this season in admirable form.

The Daily Mail's Simon Jones has linked Manchester United with a move for him, saying the Red Devils are monitoring the winger over a potential move in January.

Sadio Mane remains the other option, but the report indicates Mahrez might be the better signing.

7. Andrea Pirlo

14 of 20

Andrea Pirlo, now with New York City FC, has been linked with a move to Manchester City in the MLS close season after his club failed to make the play-offs.

The Manchester Evening News' James Robson, however, has reported the Premier League club is not interested in bringing the former Italy midfielder over to England, with Manuel Pellegrini happy with his options in the centre of the park.

Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Fernando and Fabian Delph are the options for City.

6. Steven Gerrard

15 of 20

Steven Gerrard left Liverpool in a blaze of emotion and a haze of heavy defeats at the end of last season, joining MLS side LA Galaxy.

The Independent's Simon Hughes has reported he is ready to return to Anfield—at least on a basis whereby he can train over the post-season to maintain fitness. It is also indicated there is "a chance of a formal playing agreement" between all parties being agreed.

Gerrard is due back to his MLS side for pre-season training on January 15.

5. Angel Correa

16 of 20

Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa has made his breakthrough with the Liga side this year, with suitors already wishing they had jumped in ahead of the Vicente Calderon club—who signed him last season.

The Mirror's David Anderson has reported Manchester City is the club interested in signing him for around £8 million—an extremely optimistic valuation on a player who has already debuted and scored with the Argentina national team.

Correa plays either as the second striker or off the flanks for Atleti, usually as an impact sub.

4. Daniele Rugani

17 of 20

TalkSPORT has reported Daniele Rugani could be leaving Juventus on loan in January due to a lack of playing time, having been unable to break into Massimiliano Allegri's starting XI this term.

Arsenal are said to be seriously interested in the Italian centre-back, with Serie A sides Napoli and Fiorentina also keen to make use of his availability.

Rugani was previously at Empoli as a regular starter and is rated at around £15 million.

3. Romelu Lukaku

18 of 20

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are two of the big-hitting names interested in signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton, according to the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel.

That has prompted the Toffees to put a massive £45 million price tag on the player they signed two summers ago for a club record £28 million.

Lukaku has so far scored eight in 14 games this term.

2. Paul Pogba

19 of 20

The Express' Bruce Archer has reported Paul Pogba has not agreed to join Barcelona as of yet, opening up the possibility of a move to Manchester City or Chelsea.

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, has confirmed there is no agreement in place with any side and suggested his client could be worth more than €100 million—though in theory that wouldn't place a restriction on either Premier League side signing him.

Both Chelsea and City are stocked for central midfield options, though when Pogba eventually leaves Juventus, every big club in the world would likely make room for him if they had the funds to do so.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

20 of 20

It doesn't take much for transfer rumours to start up about Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Real Madrid man has been on the back pages once more this week following comments he made to German outlet Kicker.

Marca reported those comments—Ronaldo suggesting he could leave the club in the future—as having spooked fans and drawn a reaction from club president Florentino Perez.

Ronaldo has been continually linked with Paris Saint-Germain, with Eurosport's Alex Chick reporting Le Parisian said the player told manager Laurent Blanc he'd like to work with him.
