Friday Recap

Chelsea are suffering misery on an unprecedented scale as their successful under-21 team slumped to their third defeat of the season, losing 3-1 to Spurs. It was the team's fifth straight result in Division 1 without a win, with their solitary victory in this term coming on the opening day of the campaign.

Tottenham have been the top goalscorers in Division 1 this season, and they reinforced their reputation with a great victory.

Shayon Harrison opened the scoring for the visitors midway through the first half, and skipper Milos Veljkovic doubled the advantage just after the half-time restart to put the Blues under pressure.

Harrison made it three at the hour mark to bury any ambitions Chelsea had as the west London side capitulated.

The Blues did rally late and grabbed a consolation in the final minutes through Tammy Abraham, but it was not enough, as Chelsea's youngsters showed the confidence level of manager Jose Mourinho's senior squad.

Tottenham's official Twitter account highlighted the tremendous win:

Fulham edged out Swansea in a dramatic finale at Motspur Park, snatching a 92nd-minute winner to take the points.

Joshua Smile had the home fans laughing as he converted for the Cottagers, keeping Fulham in it with a chance to make the play-offs.

Blackburn won a superb match at Molineux as they beat Wolves 3-2, coming back from two goals down to take a morale-boosting victory.

The hosts rushed into the lead with Bright Enobakhare and Niall Ennis strikes in the first 15 minutes, but the night turned sour for the home team.

Lewis Mansell and Matthew Platt brought Rovers level before the half-time break to stun Wolves, and it was left to Mansell to grab the winner midway through the second half to complete the dramatic comeback.

Times are dark for the defending Premier League champions, with Mourinho's under-21s looking lethargic and crestfallen.

Spurs were superior on Friday night and could have scored more if their luck had been in.

Chelsea now sit one point from the bottom of the table, and they may be playing in Division 2 next season.
