Senor Ballg, as he's known on Twitter, was at Spotland taking in the League One action when he donned the high-visibility jacket and made his way to the front.
The gentleman from Manchester, whose social media profile suggests he's a Manchester City fan, obviously decided to have some fun a day before the slightly bigger derby in the Premier League.
And if his tweet is anything to go by, he lasted five minutes pretending to be one of the men in yellow (or orange).
He also got to keep the jacket for his troubles and had a pretty decent story for the pub later that evening by all accounts.
Fair play, Senor.
