Twitter Reaction to Aston Villa's Sacking of Tim Sherwood as Manager

Joe GallagherOct 25, 2015

After Saturday's 2-1 loss at home to Swansea, enough was enough for Aston Villa's board.

Moments before Sunderland's derby against Newcastle (the result of which put Villa bottom of the table) kicked off, the Birmingham club announced that they had parted ways with manager Tim Sherwood.

The passionate, emotive and confident Sherwood was appointed eight months ago and led the club to top-flight safety and an FA Cup final at Wembley against Arsenal.

While his winning ratio didn't quite live up to his own lofty expectations, as recently as yesterday Sherwood was still calling for support from Villa's fans and board.

So maybe he didn't see this one coming.

The former Tottenham boss' critics were content with his dismissal.

While others condemned the fickle nature of the managerial merry-go-round.

And it wasn't long before attention turned to who might replace him at Villa Park.

Though some were more ambitious than others in their predictions.
