Carlo Ancelotti Apparently Has a Minor Cameo Role in the New 'Star Trek' Movie
Carlo Ancelotti has done just about everything there is to be done in world football—and now, reportedly, as he waits for his next job in management, he's filled the time with a cameo in the new Star Trek film.
According to the Metro (via Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera), Star Trek Beyond is set to be released in July 2016 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the show, and it will feature none other than Ancelotti as an alien-examining doctor.
Per Football Italia, Ancelotti also apparently confirmed his part: "I play the part of a scientist who has to examine an alien. It was good, I pretended it was Cristiano Ronaldo in front of me…"
It seems Ancelotti's friendship with actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Nyota Uhura in the film, has landed him the part.
Footballers have had unlikely roles in cinema before—Frank Leboeuf, for instance, had a cameo role as a doctor in the Oscar-winning The Theory of Everything and pops up at about 1:50 in the trailer below.
