Wednesday Recap

Manchester United's under-19s fell victim to a clinical performance from CSKA Moscow.

Timur Zhamaletdinov opened the scoring for CSKA with a 13th-minute penalty for an Axel Tuanzebe handball, and a powerful effort from Aleksandr Makarov gave the Russian side a commanding lead at the break.

Zhamaletdinov had his brace shortly after the restart before a late strike from Astemir Gordyushenko wrapped up the scoring at 4-0, per the club's official Twitter feed:

PSG were similarly dominant when they beat Real 4-1. Les Parisiens started brighter and were rewarded with the lead shortly before half-time when Felix Eboa Eboa headed home Christopher Nkunku's corner.

Nkunku doubled the lead with a spectacular free-kick after the break, before Aleix Febas curled one in for the visitors to spark hopes of a comeback.

Los Blancos were unable to find a way through, though, and a second from Nkunku and an injury-time fourth from Roli Pereira de Sa secured the victory.

The tournament's official Twitter feed shared the stats:

PSG paled in comparison to Benfica, though, who left Turkey with an 11-1 victory.

Galatasaray actually took the lead through a Volkan Issever penalty after 17 minutes, but four goals in 10 minutes—two from Diogo Goncalves and one apiece for Jose Gomes and Renato Sanches—quickly turned the match on its head.

The Portuguese side were even more stunning in the second half as Goncalves and Gomes sealed hat-tricks and Joao Carvalho bagged a brace. Singles from Hildeberto Pereira and Francisco Ferreira completed the rout.

The Eagles have been in incredible form, per Doron Saloman on Twitter:

Atletico were also in free-scoring mood. First-half braces from Nunez and Juan Moreno and a goal from Lucas Hernandez put Los Rojiblancos firmly in charge at half-time, with Keidi Bare and Salomon Obama finding the net in the second half.

Iliyas Kuanyshbay grabbed Astana's sole consolation.

Manchester City took the lead in the first half through Thierry Ambrose after half an hour, but Miguel Martin equalised with 10 minutes of normal time remaining with a neat finish into the bottom left corner after latching onto a lovely pass from Ruben Colmenero.

A last-minute goal from Luca Clemenza sealed a dramatic win for Juventus over Borussia Monchengladbach. The Italian had opened the scoring after 38 minutes, but 10 minutes later, Dennis Eckert found an equaliser.

The win was an important one for the Bianconeri after they lost their first two matches, so the three points will keep their hopes of progressing alive.
