Cubs' Kyle Schwarber Reaches for Outside Pitch, Hits 5th Home Run of Postseason
Chicago Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber is in such a groove this postseason that there's really no zone in which a pitcher can throw him the ball.
Even if that zone is in the opposite batter's box.
In the bottom of the first inning of Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Tuesday night, Schwarber took an outside pitch from New York Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom and launched it for an opposite-field home run. How far outside was the pitch? It was in the right-handed hitter's batter box. Schwarber hits left-handed.
