Djibril Cisse Allegedly Arrested for Sex Tape Blackmail of Mathieu Valbuena
Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse is one of four individuals to have reportedly been held in police custody over the alleged blackmail of France and Lyon midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.
That's according to Agence France-Presse (h/t Get French Football News), but the Press Association (h/t BT.com) confirmed on Tuesday evening the former Liverpool and Sunderland striker has since been released from custody. Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson confirmed the news:
According to a source quoted by AFP (h/t Eurosport), the 34-year-old striker is set to be "quickly exonerated."

The remaining three figures involved claim to be in possession of the tape, although the aforementioned source reported that "the existence of an intimate video has not been proven." Versailles judiciary police are handling the case moving forward.
Cisse is currently without a club. In September, he signed a monthlong contract to spend the twilight of his career playing for JS Saint-Pierroise after previously representing the Reds, Marseille, Lazio, Panathinaikos and having played for France 41 times, scoring nine goals.

Valbuena, who was a former team-mate of Cisse during their time together at Marseille, is looking to impress with Lyon after signing from Dynamo Moscow in the summer. He's donned the international jersey on 50 occasions and will be hoping to be a key part of France's attempts to win the European Championship on home soil next summer.
