The Bayern Munich stopper made a reflex save diving to his left to prevent what would have been the opening goal.

The sides went into half time locked at 0-0, but Germany broke the deadlock minutes into the second half via a Thomas Muller penalty.

The lead didn't last long, though, with Georgia equalising moments later through Jaba Kankava's brilliant left-footed volley.

Germany regained the lead with ten minutes to play when substitute Max Kruse swept home a Mesut Ozil pass to score with his first touch of the game.
It turned out to be the winner with Germany holding onto the slender advantage to book their spot in Euro 2016.
