Uncommitted 2016 Recruits Most Likely to Commit Next

Damon SaylesOct 8, 2015

The month of October is when many recruits begin taking official visits. Some of those recruits choose to end their processes around this time as well.

Decisions are coming soon for a few athletes, and college coaches are preparing for upcoming announcements that could bring immediate help to their offensive or defensive lineups. Here are five athletes who are expected to make their decisions either this month or early next month.

All five athletes have been confirmed by Bleacher Report.

5-Star WR Kyle Davis

1 of 5

Hometown (School): Lawrenceville, Georgia (Archer)

Size: 6'1 1/2", 218 lbs

247Sports composite rank: No. 22 overall (No. 1 WR)

247Sports Crystal Ball favorite: Georgia (87 percent)

Will Kyle Davis, the nation's top-ranked receiver, stay in-state? Or will he surprise the recruiting world with a commitment to another SEC contender? Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee are the three schools believed to be leading the battle for Davis, who will make his decision during homecoming on Oct. 23.

Georgia is hoping to win this recruiting battle in an effort to team Davis with 5-star quarterback Jacob Eason. Davis has been mum regarding hints about which way he's leaning, and his decision will be one that is heavily anticipated.

4-Star WR Devin Duvernay

2 of 5

Hometown (School): Sachse, Texas (Sachse)

Size: 5'11", 195 lbs

247Sports composite rank: No. 41 overall (No. 4 WR)

247Sports Crystal Ball favorite: Baylor (48 percent)

It makes sense for people to believe Baylor is the leader for electrifying wide receiver Devin Duvernay. After all, his twin brother, Donovan Duvernay, committed to Baylor on Sept. 21, and the two have talked about playing together as college teammates.

The idea of the twins going their separate ways is just as much an option. Duvernay has an official visit scheduled to Alabama this weekend, and he's already visited Ohio State. Baylor and Oklahoma most likely will get official visits, and schools like LSU, Texas, TCU and Oklahoma State are still in the running for his services.

5-Star OT Greg Little

3 of 5

Hometown (School): Allen, Texas (Allen)

Size: 6'5 1/2", 305 lbs

247Sports composite rank: No. 2 overall (No. 1 OT)

247Sports Crystal Ball favorite: Alabama (51 percent)

It seems like every major school wants Greg Little—and rightfully so—but one of five SEC schools is expected to land his commitment on his birthday, Nov. 4. Little will choose out of LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia and Auburn.

Little has already made official visits to Georgia and Auburn, and he's made unofficial visits to the other three schools in the race. One school that is not expected to be in the running but should be considered a dark horse is Texas A&M, the school he decommitted from in July.

4-Star WR Freddie Swain

4 of 5

Hometown (School): Citra, Florida (North Marion)

Size: 6'1", 188 lbs

247Sports composite rank: No. 165 overall (No. 29 WR)

247Sports Crystal Ball favorite: Florida (88 percent)

Freddie Swain is expected to make his verbal commitment at 3 p.m. ET Friday at North Marion. Florida, Tennessee, Miami and USC are among the schools to keep an eye on.

Florida is in a great spot right now, as Swain has made multiple visits to Gainesville. Plus, the Gators are playing well in Jim McElwain's first season as head coach. Swain would be Florida's top-ranked offensive recruit if he chooses the Gators Friday.

3-Star DB Chacho Ulloa

5 of 5

Hometown (School): Corona, California (Centennial)

Size: 6'0", 190 lbs

247Sports composite rank: No. 566 overall (No. 40 S)

247Sports Crystal Ball favorite: Notre Dame (57 percent)

Tuesday is the big day for Chacho Ulloa, who has Notre Dame, Stanford and Arizona State as the three contenders in earning his commitment. Ulloa, who considers the No. 13 his lucky number (hence the date of his commitment), told Bleacher Report two weeks ago that he has an idea of where he wants to go.

Playing for a football program and attending a school with a solid academic reputation is something that's huge for Ulloa, who has 15 reported offers. Stanford has the proximity advantage, but he's also a big fan of the tradition Notre Dame brings to the table.
