Manning to Thomas Will Be Top Passing Combo

Peyton Manning ($7,000) may not be in 2013-14 form, but he's not the washed-up geezer many critics are making him out to be.

Manning has averaged a solid 264 passing yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. There's reason to believe he'll produce an even better performance in Week 5 as he and the Denver Broncos take on the Oakland Raiders.

In Week 4, Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears found some success against the Raiders' pass defense with a short-to-intermediate passing game. With the way some of Manning's deep passes have looked, that's a strategy that should be right up his alley.

Cutler threw for 281 yards with two touchdowns. The Bears accomplished this without Alshon Jeffery, their best receiver. It should come as no surprise considering the Raiders are ranked 31st in the NFL in pass defense.

Despite suffering a neck injury, Peyton Manning's top receiver, Demaryius Thomas ($8,100), should be available. He was reportedly limited in practice, per DenverBroncos.com, but it would be a shock if he doesn't play.

Thomas isn't just Denver's leading receiver with 361 yards and three touchdowns, he also has the most balls thrown his way. Manning has targeted him an average of 12.5 times per game this season. All signs point to Manning and Thomas throttling the Raiders on Sunday.

Justin Forsett For the Win

It always seems to take the Baltimore Ravens a few weeks before they realize they have to play smashmouth football to be most effective. Apparently they got the memo last week when running back Justin Forsett ($5,800) exploded for a career day.

ESPN Stats & Info tweeted about his production against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4:

Forsett is suddenly hot and primed to take advantage of an even better matchup in Week 5. The Ravens take on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have had all kinds of problems stopping the run.

Through the first four weeks of the season, teams are averaging 141.5 rushing yards per game against Cleveland. The Miami Dolphins are the only team giving up more.

Don't expect Baltimore to give the Browns a reprieve. Forsett should eclipse the 100-yard mark again en route to a big performance.

Gronk Smash

Sometimes the obvious choice is a good one. Rob Gronkowski ($7,500) has solidified his position as the top tight end in the NFL. He's averaging a whopping 25.6 fantasy points per game this season.

Gronk and the New England Patriots take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. The Cowboys' run defense has been the major issue over the last two weeks, but finding a player to match up with Gronk is going to be problematic for Dallas as well.

Coming into Sunday's game, Gronk is averaging 102.7 receiving yards per game. While he didn't find the end zone in Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he has four scores this season. He's still one of the safest bets to find paydirt each week.

Vick's Deep Threat

Michael Vick wasn't fully in sync with Antonio Brown in Week 4, but he will have an even bigger weapon at his disposal.

Martavis Bryant ($3,800) is returning from suspension. His size and speed should play well for Vick and the Steelers. Expect the Steelers to try and establish the run early. That will create scenarios for the team to use play-action passes down the field.

Bryant should be a prime target for Vick against a team like the San Diego Chargers. San Diego hasn't been able to stop the run (507 rushing yards allowed). Because the Bolts haven't been able to slow anyone's ground game with their front seven, they may have to commit a safety in the box to help.

Bryant can make an impact on the game during these sequences without safety help over the top.
