Navy and Notre Dame to Wear Same Baselayer, Gloves and Cleats out of Respect

Navy and Notre Dame will be going head-to-head on the field Saturday, but even though they're on opposite sides, there is plenty of respect in the rivalry.

That's why the teams are doing something to "pay homage to the storied history and brotherhood" between the two schools, as the Navy press release states.

When the Midshipmen and the Fighting Irish take the field this weekend, players from both teams will be wearing the same base layer, gloves and cleats. They call it "Respect."

The base layer features a double anchor (Navy) and a shamrock (Notre Dame) blended together:

Opponents on the field, brothers off it.
