Twitter Reacts as David Ospina Reportedly Named on Ballon D'Or Longlist

Mundo Deportivo (h/t Metro) has revealed a rumoured 59-man strong Ballon d'Or longlist, featuring a number of strange inclusions and omissions.

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon reportedly failed to make the grade, as did David Silva and Mesut Ozil.

However, Bournemouth forward Christian Atsu, who is on loan from Chelsea, was named alongside Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina and Massimo Luongo of Queens Park Rangers.

Naturally, fans on Twitter were somewhat surprised by a number of names on the alleged longlist.

The winner of the Ballon d'Or, awarded to the best player on the planet from the last year, takes place on January 11 2016. Could we see Ospina defy the odds and beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to lift the prestigious award?
