Wizards' John Wall Says His Favorite NFL Team Is the Cowboys, Not Redskins

Kyle NewportJun 5, 2018

Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper may play different sports, but they do have a few things in common.

Not only were both Washington stars drafted with the top overall pick in their respective 2010 drafts, but they also root for the same NFL team—and it's not the Washington Redskins.

They both cheer for Washington's NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys.

Harper already went public with his Cowboys fandom, so it was Wall's turn.

In a rapid-fire interview for Red Bull, Wall revealed that even though he has gone to a Redskins game in a Washington jersey (as shown on the team's official website), he roots for the Cowboys.

That's not going to sit well with folks in D.C., which the two-time NBA All-Star knows.

Before any Washington fans freak out, though, note that Wall at least has a reason for rooting for Dallas. He says he's a mama's boy, and because his mom is a Cowboys fan, he cheers for the team as well.

At least Wall and Harper now know they have each other. Nobody else in Washington is going to want to watch a Cowboys-Redskins game with them, so if they are ever in town at the same time during the rivalry game, they can watch it together.
