LeBron James Recruited to Use Amtrak in Trending Post Amid NYC Travel Rumors After 76ers Contract

Amtrak is ready to help LeBron James out with a potential commute to play for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The railroad company shared a series of posts Friday calling on James to use the service amid rumors he is considering commuting from New York City to Philadelphia.

James agreed last week to join the Sixers on a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported shortly afterward James could live in New York or New Jersey while playing for the 76ers.

The Athletic's Fred Katz recently added a source said James' living arrangements "have yet to be finalized" this offseason.

A helicopter trip from New York City to the Sixers' arena or practice facility would take around 45 minutes, per Katz.

A commuter train from Manhattan to Philadelphia takes about one hour and 25 minutes, according to the Amtrak schedule.

Los Angeles Lakers coach J.J. Redick once lived in Brooklyn while playing for the Sixers back in 2017. James will have to decide if he's ready to make a similar commute before finalizing any daily travel plans ahead of the 2026-27 season.
